Attendance

Students cannot learn if they are not in school. California schools no longer receive funding for students who are sick or "excused." It is essential that your child attend school — even if it is just for part of a day (e.g. before and after doctor or dentist appointment). Satisfactory explanation from the parent or guardian is required for the absence of a student for all or any part of the school day. The explanation may be given in person, by telephone, or in writing.

To excuse an absence by phone, please use the 24 hour attendance reporting line: (805) 474-3300, ext. 3290.

Leave your student’s name, date(s) or periods of absence, reason for absence, name of caller and relationship to the student, phone number of caller.

If you need to speak directly to the Attendance Office, please call:

(805) 474-3300 Ext. 3241

Students will have three days to clear an absence after their return. Absences not excused within three days will be recorded as unexcused.
