Objectives for the Week:
NoodleTools is a web-based student research service that helps our students to correctly cite sources in the MLA (Modern Language Association) style. NoodleTools is used throughout a research project to track sources, take notes, create outlines, collaborate with classmates, and format/print bibliographies.
Our students are accessing NoodleTools through google drive and would be happy to show parents/mentors how they do so. Please ask our PYPx students about it.
Coming Soon...
Thank you to all parents who were able to join us for our third Present, Connect, Reflect. As always, the students benefit from explaining their process of Exhibition to various community members. If you were unable to attend, please see the slide show that was used to help guide the conversations that took place.
"In Exhibition, I'm very happy and dedicated with my work. We have had so much research time and I learned so much. I could have done a lot more work if the devices were charged (which they were not!). I have gone to all my mentor meetings and come back with lots of new ideas and information about my topic. In our specialists classes we are focusing on Exhibition so we can get more ideas. In Art class, we are brainstorming about our artifacts" Lucy (6.2)
"Today I felt proud because I was able to work harder than before by getting better questions, primary resources and trusted articles. Before I was stuck because I had trouble researching and having bad questions For LOI 1 that I wouldn't be able to answer the questions. But today I decided to rewrite my questions and found out now its easier and better than being stuck with bad questions. So from now on whenever I'm stuck on a question for my LOIs I'll rewrite them to even simpler forms." - Abeldo (6.3)
"So today I reviewed some really good secondary resources - they were three articles that my teacher found somewhere that are connected to Line of Inquiry 1. I thought that I worked well by highlighting the parts of the article that connected to LOI 1 - (the connection between video games and mood, sleep and attention) What I think I could have done better is actually nothing because I approached it good" - Kirby (6.1)
