Objectives for the Week
Students are using the following schedule to keep themselves organised throughout Exhibition. Every morning, students add their daily tasks to the agenda.
This week, the students began to develop their framework for their unit. They will use this framework to help guide their inquiry throughout Exhibition.
This week, students used this document to determine their goals for exhibition in regards to the Approaches to Learning (ATL). They choose two criteria from each section (thinking skills, self management skills, research skills, communication skills, and social skills) that they will be evaluated on throughout the process of the Exhibition.
"This week I learned a lot and I will continue to learn a lot about cancer, and how you can prevent it. I like how the year 7s came in and answered our questions about exhibition. It was very helpful to hear those words of reassurance that exhibition will be okay. They made me feel more confident about what I will be doing. I am excited to find out who my mentor is because they will share information with me, and it is nice to find out something new from someone else. This allows you to get more knowledge to share with others" - Lucy (6.2)
"I feel really proud of my work these days because I have been less distracted and have done more work than ever before. This may be tiring at times, but it super worth it. I feel really proud of my work and expect myself to continue like this moving forward." - Julie (6.3)
Year 7s
This week we had a group of year 7 students, Mafalda, Channol, Alissa, Esther, and Isabella, come speak to the year 6 students and answer questions concerning the exhibition. This was an extension of what they experienced at the Opening Ceremonies. Thank you to those five students who took the time out of their week to help the year 6s in their process.
Nabeeha Ahmed
Thank you to Nabeeha who spent some time speaking to our year 6s this week. In 2017, Nabeeha and a group of her friends climbed Kilimanjaro in an effort to raise money for children in Angola who require treatment for Malaria. She spoke about her dedication and hard work needed in order to achieve her goal.
