Mr. Eugene (6.1 Teacher): I love everything about the Exhibition process. This year I am once more pleasantly surprised by students' desire to drive their own learning, taking it in their chosen direction. Although the Exhibition process encompasses all components of the PYP, for me the difference between this and other units is the student's ability/willingness to truly demonstrate development of ATLs. PYPx as a process is a fantastic culmination to the primary school experience.
Ms. Tremblay (6.2 Teacher): I cannot believe the time has come and and already gone!! Our students have grown so much over the past 9 weeks. I look forward to seeing how the skills they have developed will transform their learning for the rest of the school year!! Not only have they learned a lot, but as an educator, I have too! I am excited to go through the process of Exhibition again next year!!
Mr. David (6.3 Teacher): We are done! Wow....what a crazy past two months we've had! I am so proud of the growth, learning and perseverance demonstrated by 6.3. The Exhibition is not an easy process and I couldn't have done this without the support of our entire LIS community (parents, coworkers, admin, mentors, etc.). However, hard work pays off and I know the students have developed so many of their skills and established great thinking routines which will carry them forward into their secondary education. We can expect great things from 6.3 moving forward, no matter where they are!
Secondary Mentor: I liked the weekly emails about what was expected. The student notebook (journal) was very well organized.
Librarian: Great energy and enthusiasm. It was lovely to see the entire community supporting each other.
ELC Teacher: The children were well prepared to respond to questions asked. The students were passionate about their topics.
Performing Arts Teacher: Many students listed their inspiration as a past unit either from Y6 or Y5. I had not seen this previously and thought is was really great. It makes it much more authentic that their topics were chosen from their prior learning in the PYP.
Year 12 TOK teacher: On the whole there was clear evidence of student learning and research organized by a conceptual framework.
Year 6 Parent: The present connect and reflect sessions worked very well for me to get engaged.
Year 6 Student: The freedom and independence we had during PYPx worked really well because we could be where we needed to be when we needed to be without having to tell the teacher.
