Tired of loose change laying in the bottom of your bag?
Fed up of always having a watery salad?
Making a meal for more people than the recipe suggests?
Want to bring a story to life?
Building a structure but don't know which material is the most stable?
The children at Drew can help…
In Year 1, we have been exploring how strong and stable different materials are, so we can build our our modelled playground.
In Year 2, we have been bringing our stories to life joining materials together to make our own puppets. We glued, stapled and sewed puppets.
In Year 4, we have been looking at pizzas from different origins through tasting and listing their ingredients used. We then identified the ingredients that suited our food palates and made our own pizza based on our preferences. We learnt so many new skills like: kneading, smearing, folding and proving.
In Year 3, we have been exploring cutting techniques to make our our salads. We explored and tasted a range of ingredients, so we could decide which ingredients we wanted in our own salads.
In Year 6, we have been learning different cooking techniques to make our own cottage pie. We explored different seasonings to perfect the taste and we even scaled up the recipes to cater for more people.
In Year 5, we have been making electrical cars. We safely explored wood cutting techniques and different joining techniques to create our base and then used our scientific knowledge to create a circuit that provided light and sound for our cars.
