Unit 1 - Paper Sculptures Continued
Students completed paper sculpting and composed a Paper Sculpture Legend by writing about each piece of their final project. Students presented to peers and projects are now on display in the BBE foyer display case for community viewing pleasure!

How does my brain work?
Unit 1 - The Brain Continued
Students completed a study of the brain by writing facts collected from reading children's literature and viewing kid-friendly media about the human brain. Students created models of the brain complete with labels and a report of all they learned.

What can I discover about popcorn?
Unit 1 - Popcorn Research & Challenges
Students researched information about popcorn's origins, its characteristics, and its popularity. They were challenged to build a container to hold exactly 293 pieces of popcorn. Estimating volume, trivia challenges, and the creation of a fun fact, popcorn poster will also be included in this unit project.

Students were presented with 2 different collaboration challenges that involve research and planning following the engineering process. Students are still in the research phase, but the final project will include either a complicated art project or a complex robot maze.

How can I create digital mosaic art?
Unit 1 - Mosaic Art History &
Modern Day Techniques
Students researched 3 types of mosaic art: Roman, Spanish, and Modern to discover their similarities and differences. Students were then challenged to take this ancient art of the past into the digital world and design a self-portrait that incorporates each person's strengths, gifts, and talents.
