How can I express my creativity as I explore, engineer, think critically, collaborate & innovate?
1ST GRADE
Students will develop empathy and perseverance after discovering an immigrant who left a legacy.
How can my dreams develop into something bigger than myself?
Students will research what an immigrant is and use Google Earth to explore different parts of the world. After learning the important vocabulary terms, perseverance and empathy; students will choose an end product to show their knowledge of a popular folk art sculpture.
Students travel to different destinations around the world using Google Earth.
How far is it from Italy to the USA?
2ND GRADE
Students will explore the engineering process and use it to create and test a vehicle.
How can following the engineering process help me productively solve problems?
Students will learn to think like engineers and follow the engineering design process. Students will work collaboratively to design a "garbage" car from recycled products, but not before overcoming several constraints and an instant challenge.
