Band Booster Scholarships

Students in grades 6 through 11 seeking to enrich their music talents at summer camp can apply for a Liberty Band Booster scholarship. This scholarship may be used for, but not limited to Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, Ohio State Summer Programs, Wooster Music Camp or any other Band Booster approved summer band camp.

The band boosters will give up to 50% of the camp fee not to exceed $200. Students are required to apply for any scholarship the summer camp may offer. Please note that camp scholarships are not a guarantee and will depend on funds available. Multiple approved applications may be required to split the scholarships.  Applications must be completed and turned in to the band director no later that the final Friday of May. No late applications will be considered. Students receiving assistance for other sources such as the Ohio ACE program are not eligible. 

Application

High school seniors who are members in good standing of the instrumental music department at Liberty High School are invited to apply for a scholarship in the amount of $500.00. Students are required to attend a four year college / university majoring in music. The award will be issued to the bursars office of the school the student is attending.

Applicants wishing to be considered should complete and return the application form, parts one through six, plus two letters of recommendations. All information should be typed. Return form and the accompanying documentation to the high school band director on or before the first Friday in May of the year of graduation. The award will be announced at the academic breakfast in May. Please note that scholarships are not a guarantee and the amount will depend on funds available at that time. No late applications will be considered.

Application

Students in grades 5 through 8 will be awarded band booster mini scholarships for their outstanding work throughout the school year. The funds will be awarded in the following amounts and will be deposited into the student's band activity fund.

5th grade student of the year $25
6th grade student of the year $50
7th grade student of the year $75
8th grade Director's Award $100

All awards will remain in the students activity funds and cannot be withdrawn. It may be used for trips or band fees.  The scholarships may be suspended in a year that funds are not available.
