In Year 4 we have started reading our new Power of Reading the text 'Beowulf', last week we worked on writing our predictions and this week we looked at features of a persuasive advert. In Maths, we have started working on developing our division skills and exploring different methods. Our new Science topic this half term is 'States of Matter'. We enjoyed investigating properties of solids, liquids and gases. In history, our new topic is 'How hard was it invade and settle in Britain?', we have enjoyed learning reasons how Anglo-Saxons came and settled in Britain all those years ago!
Over the next couple of weeks, we will be learning:
Maths - We will continue consolidating division using our times tables knowledge.
Writing - We will continue working on our new Power of Reading text 'Beowulf' and will be creating adverts with the purpose to persuade.
History - We will study Anglo-Saxon beliefs and how Christianity spread in Britain during their time.
Science - We will investigate melting and freezing and the use of thermometers.
