Year 3 has settled back into this new term very well. They shared many stories about their Christmas and what they did over the holidays. The children have loved starting their new topics. last half term we visited the Natural History Museum and looked at fossils, rocks, and volcanoes linked to our geography topic. The children have also been able to use this learning in our new science topic about geology. The children have loved reading our new book, "Pharaoh in the Bath". They have been learning how to describe the physical and emotional characteristics of the different characters. In music, the children have started their new topic and spent the first lesson listening to salsa music and learning to salsa dance. As you can imagine this caused lots of hilarity as they watched their teacher try to dance.

The year 3 team would like to take this opportunity to wish all the families in year 3 a very happy 2025. 

In the next term, we will be learning:

Maths - the children will be looking at mass in grams and kilograms.  

Writing - Our text will be "Pharaoh in the Bath" and we will be writing a set of instructions.

Science - Our Science topic that we are looking at this half term will be "Rocks and soil"
