This half term our theme is 'Real Life Superheroes', such as police officers, firefighters, doctors, nurses, dentists, carers, teachers and more!
In Maths this term we will be focusing on one number each week. So far we have learnt about the numbers 0 and 1.
In Phonics we have been learning about the sounds 'd' (dog, doll, dinosaur) and 'g' (goat, glue, gate). We continue to search for rhyming words in the books that we read and are practising segmenting and blending the sounds that we can hear in words.
In PSHE we have been learning about challenges and how to keep on trying and persevering to overcome these challenges.
In R.E. we have been learning about different festivals that we celebrate, such as New Year and Chinese New Year.
In Art we have been exploring using different materials, such as how we can use crayons and then paint over them with block paints to reveal our drawings (crayon resist with watercolour paints).
In Music we have been listening to a hello song and trying to identify the different languages and ways in which people say hello.
We have enjoyed sharing our Christmas holiday news with the rest of our classmates, talking about the activities that we got up to during our breaks.
We have also been busy practising the Makaton sign for the days of the week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday).
We are looking forward to some visits from Real Life Superheroes, who will talk to us about their very important jobs, in the next few weeks.
