Reception have had a super start to 2025! We blasted off the year with our exciting superhero topic, zooming straight into the wonderful world of 'My Mum is a Superhero'. After reading the story, we had a go at turning our own amazing grown-ups into superheroes – capes and all! We then practised our super writing skills by carefully labelling our drawings, listening hard for all the sounds in the words.

This week, we’ve been busy learning about real-life heroes who help us every day. We’ve been building 'It is a...' sentences and remembering to use our finger spaces (a tricky skill!). In maths, our fingers have been working hard too, helping us find all the different ways to make 5. We’ve also started a colourful art project, exploring paint and different ways to make marks. We can’t wait to transform these paintings into landscape collages over the next few weeks.
