YEAR 6Â
Year 6 had an absolute blast in the Isle of Wight last week! They soaked up the sunshine, tried lots of new experiences, and created lasting memories together. Their enthusiasm and positive spirit were truly infectious. Highlights definitely were the aqua park at Tapnell Farm where the children particularly enjoyed throwing in as many teachers as they could! Blackgang Chine was also a favourite - especially the new ride, Extinction 360, which spun them up in the air and upside down at great speed! Some children went on it multiple times! They also loved the boat ride at Alum Bay and everyone coming together for the disco on the last night. It truly was a fantastic week and the teachers couldn't have asked for more polite, kind and enthusiastic children. The children left at school last week also had a lovely time doing lots of fun activities like sewing, art and cooking. They all made their own biscuits, decorated them and took them home in a box they designed themselves.
Back at school, with only a couple of weeks to go until our performances, we have gone full swing into Aladdin rehearsals. Again, the children have given one-hundred percent, learning their lines, focusing on the acting and watching each cast to pick up tips. With so much to look forward to before the end of term still, the excitement at the moment is palpable and we know it's going to be an amazing last few weeks in Year 6 for all involved.
Over the next couple of weeks, we will be learning:
Maths - Project-based work
Writing - Creating their own Mr Men/Little Miss book for younger readers
Reading - Questions based on our new book, Can You See Me? By Libby Scott and Rebecca Westcott
Science - Circuits, Batteries and Switches. We are planning an Electricity Day at some point this term.
