KS2 Music Festival

Last night, a group of year 4 students took part in the Sutton Music Trust's concert titled 'Make Music With Me'. They played their violins and cellos in three different pieces and joined together with all of the schools in an impressive finale of singing.

Well done to all of the children who took part!

Orchestra Performance

We were treated to an excellent orchestra performance on Thursday. Thank you to all of our orchestra members for performing for us.

If your child is interested in joining the orchestra, please contact the school office.

On the 26th of June, we went to Tiffins High School for girls to attend an event called Dragons' Den where we made a lip balm. We had to design our own business plan, an advert and a jingle. Once we had done all of this, we had to pitch to the judges!

The year 9 ambassador who looked after us for the day and they were lovely.

Everyone had a great day!

SEND Transition Meetings

SEND transition meetings this year will take place for children with an EHCP. Further information will be shared with you next week.

School Uniform Update

The uniform shop now stocks uniform with our new school logo. This is now available via the SchoolWearInc website.

From September, in line with the new LEO uniform policy, we will be asking all children to have black school shoes rather than trainers as part of their school uniform. Please consider this when you are purchasing your child's school shoes for September.

School Fund

We pride ourselves on offering our children varied and exciting experiences that help to support their learning of the curriculum. The School Fund will allow us to provide additional activities, school visits and enrichment opportunities across all year groups.

We have a voluntary school fund donation of £10 a term / £30 a year per child or £40 for a family if there are siblings at the school. We are aware of the current cost of living crisis and any donation will be gratefully received.

Parents can pay for School Fund online via our Arbor payment system. Log into the parent portal and on your child's home screen under accounts you will see School Fund, click into this and select Top Up Account. You can then choose to pay the £10, £30 or £40. Please ignore the weekly payments, you just need to make the one off payment for either the term or academic year as you choose.

We would like to thank you for your continued support.

Family Support Worker

A guide for parents: Transitioning from Primary to Secondary school

Starting a new school, with new teachers and classmates can be a very daunting and overwhelming thing. With that said, it is also a very exciting time and a big milestone which every young person experiences.

As a parent it is in our best interest to support our children through these unfamiliar times, therefore focusing on exciting opportunities such as: new subjects, activities and friends. Celebrating the milestone of finishing primary school, and all the ways they have grown, can really boost their self-esteem and confidence.

I understand that many of us may not have had a great school experience and the negative, worrying feelings that our children display could then trigger us and bring up some unwanted feelings and thoughts. Rest assured that you are not alone, we have all had some form of bad experience in our school days, but so long as we are encouraging and understanding, our children should feel at ease which will also be helpful for us as adults and parents.

If you would like any more support please feel free to contact the Family support worker.
