At Brookfield we are beginning our journey to achieve our Rights Respecting Schools Gold Award and children will continue learning about the rights of the child.
This week we have been thinking of article 38:
Article 38 (Protection from War and Remembrance Day)
Every child has the right to protection from war. Children under 15 cannot be forced to go into the army or take part in wars.
There are many children in the world today who are affected by war. War Child is a charity that works to protect the rights of children in five countries where there is conflict. UNICEF was created in 1946 to help protect and support children after World War II. They also rescue children that have been forced to fight in wars.
