Bright Brookfield Boys bring back a trophy
" Before the half term, the Brookfield boys played in a cup which was sponsored by Pokemon. When they played, they came second in the group stage. People would say they would be out but there was a spot for the second best team. Our Goal Difference was 9 so we went through to the final.
As Brookfield were in the final, they were against 4 schools such as: St Cecilia,Cheam Park Farm,Barrow Hedges and Woodfield. As Brookfield arrived on the minibus they already knew this would be a tough test of all of their abilities. They needed to work as a team.
Surprisingly, Brookfield was the first game on and they were up against Barrow Hedges. And as brookfield was passing the ball around,Josh decided to go on a little bit of a run and he dribbled all the way down the line and crossed it in and one of the Barrow Hedges defenders, slide tackled and he ended up scoring an own goal. Brookfield end up winning their first Game 1-0.
Brookfield had their second group stage game and it was against Cheam Park Farm.In the first half, the Brookfield Boys were dominating. And in the second half the school dominated as well. They also had a lot of key chances but they just couldn’t finish them all off.So the Game ended in a 0-0 draw.
Brookfield had their second to last Group game against St Cecilia. If Brookfield won this game they would’ve gone to the top of the group. The game was very tight and both teams had an even amount of chances but that game also ended in a 0-0 draw.
Brookfield had their last group game against Woodfield. Going into this match we knew we couldn’t advance to the next round. As we played we both had counter attacks and really good chances altogether but that game also ended in a 1-1 draw.
To conclude this report,Brookfield ended up finishing in 2nd place meaning we did not advance to the next round, however we did get a trophy which is in our cabinet to this day. "

Tag Rugby Team Triumphs in Tournament
" Brookfield’s Tag Rugby team played in the intense LEO Tag Rugby tournament. Although it was hard, they still put all their efforts into this competition and acted like it was their last.
Overall, according to the parents, Brookfield played their hearts out and never stopped trying.
Their first match was against Shawley although half of the team thought it would be tough they still pulled through. And when they were up 2-0 Shawley pulled back to make it 2-2 and Cayleb.B ended up scoring the winning try.To make it 3-2.
Their second match was against Cheam Park Farm coming up to this moment everybody knew it would be a real test.Although Cayleb scored 2 tries which were disallowed.Cheam Park farm went on to win the game 1-0.
Their third match was against Cheam Common 2 We knew we had to win this match in order to become 2nd place in our group. We gave the game all of our effort and went on to win the game 4-0.Because we won, we ended up coming second place in our group.
In our last game, we played Cheam Fields and we all knew if we won this we would come 3rd place. In the end we ended up winning the game 3-0.
To conclude this event, it was a fantastic experience for our team and they all really enjoy playing the sport. We look forward to competing in various tournaments in the upcoming weeks ahead. "

We are delighted to share the news that the children at Brookfield Primary Academy, who undertook the national tests and assessments for the Academic Year 2021/2022 performed incredibly well. This included last year's Reception, Year 1, Year 2, Year 4 and Year 6.

Our school catering provision is offered to all children across the Trust by LEO Catering, our in house catering supplier. The menus are created and refreshed three times a year, catering for children with allergies and are available to view below. Our menus follow government food standard guidelines and offer excellent value at £2.50 a day for a main meal, dessert, choice of salad bar, fresh bread daily and vegetarian and Halal options. Children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 receive a free meal funded by the government's Universal Infant Free School Meal grant and we encourage anyone in any year group who thinks they may be eligible to apply for free school meal funding to apply.
Menus are available here www.leoacademytrust.co.uk/647/school-meals or from the office foyer.
Children in Years 3-6 will need to pay for their meals via Arbor. Cost of a school meal is £2.50 per day, £12.50 per week. Please ensure there are sufficient funds in your child's account in advance, otherwise no school dinner can be ordered and you will need to provide your child with a packed lunch.
For those children who do still bring in a packed lunch, you may have noticed that your child brings home some of their lunch as we encourage the children to take home uneaten food. This enables you to see exactly what your child is eating at lunchtimes and adapt their lunch accordingly. We ask that packed lunches include healthy options in line with our Healthy School status. Children should not bring fizzy drinks or chocolate bars to school.
We have a number of children with nut allergies in school which means that all staff and parents must be vigilant about ingredients we use in school and items put into lunch boxes. No nuts should be put into packed lunches.

This year for Anti-Bullying Week we are learning to 'Reach Out' to stop bullying for good. The children will be wearing odd socks on Monday 14th to celebrate our differences and will be joining in with activities throughout the week to let everyone in our school community know that we do not stand for bullying at Brookfield.
We can't wait to see all of your brilliant socks on Monday.
It is the parent/carer’s responsibility to ensure that their child is dropped off and collected by a responsible person if it is not safe for the child to walk home unsupervised (please see Year 5 & 6 below). There is no minimum age set in law when a young person is allowed to remain in charge of another child; however, it is an offence to leave a child alone if it places them at risk. This can include ‘in the care of an older sibling’ if the level of supervision is ‘likely to cause unnecessary suffering or injury to health’ (Children and Young Persons Act). Therefore parents/carers must understand and be prepared to take responsibility for anything that should go wrong in their absence. Parents are also responsible for the care and safety of their eldest child, even while that child is acting in a caring role for younger siblings.
At Brookfield Primary Academy, we allow siblings aged 16 and over to drop off or collect a child providing that this form has been completed; however, in exceptional circumstances allowances could possibly be made to allow someone under the age of 16 but above the age of 12. This would need to be in writing and agreed with the Principal.
The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents and the NSPCC recommend that no one under 16 should be left to care for a younger child for more than a short period of time. The school reserves the right to refuse to allow a person under the age of 16 to take responsibility for accompanying a pupil to or from school should we have any concerns about that person’s suitability to do so. The suitability of a sibling, or other young adult, caring for a younger child will be considered on a case by case basis, by making a judgement of the potential risks of this arrangement; the maturity of the child collecting/being collected; the length and nature of the journey home, the behaviour and relationship of the children collecting/being collected.
Please note that pupils in Year 6 are allowed, with permission, to walk to and from school unaccompanied. To enable Brookfield to have a clear record of all of the children who have permission parents/carers must complete this form. Most Year 6 parents would have already completed this form (this is for information purposes only).
Also, pupils in Year 5 (from the Summer Term only) are allowed, with permission, to walk to and from school unaccompanied. Again, to enable Brookfield to have a clear record of all of the children who have permission parents/carers must complete this form. Year 5 parents/carers will be asked to complete this form at the end of the Spring term next year.

Sadly, we are again bringing to your attention the dangerous and inconsiderate parking on Ridge Road, Beeches Road and the surrounding roads outside school. I know pick up and drop off times are difficult and very busy due to large amounts of children on our site, however a small minority of parents from the school, are still parking without any thought for our local residents or parents walking their children to school.
We have been receiving complaints from residents very unhappy about cars being parked across their drives, on white lines, double dropped kerbs and near junctions. This parking can pose a safety risk to pupils and parents that do walk/cycle/scooter to school, as well as to other road users.
We are an eco school, I would like to encourage parents and pupils to use more sustainable modes of travel to get to school where this is possible. I do understand that parents or carers will sometimes need to drive their children to school, however, I would urge where possible for parents/carers to park away from the school and then walk in.
Please could you think of the safety of ALL our children and refrain from parking across residents driveways as this is an offence which could also result in a Penalty Charge Notice.
Thank you in advance for you support in this important issue and let’s hope together we can ensure the safety of the children and be more considerate to our local residents.
