Through a multi-step approach, Leigh Community Schools aims to improve communication, collaboration, and digital citizenship through technology integration. The development of a current technology curriculum and continued professional development is a key. In 2018-2019 the District hired a Part-Time Technology Integrationist to assist students and teachers. As a result of these strategies, the hope is to find a purposeful way to use technology to further student achievement. Safely connecting students on a global scale has been one of the driving forces behind this goal. Technology surveys and an action plan have helped guide our course into the future.
Leigh Community Schools has a adopted the SAMR model for technology usage in the classroom. Our district is working towards integrated lessons where students using technology become active creators.
