Surveys were given to students, staff, and parents at spring parent-teacher conferences in 2016 and 2018. Perceptual surveys will continue to be given biannually. The surveys are not academically driven, but focus on school environment, communication, and technology. After staff members review the data, strengths and deficiencies are identified and recommendations are made. Our team put together a document based on those recommendations. Then, the team inferred areas of need for our district. For example, we saw inconsistency in the area of communication from building to building. We then developed ideas for improvement in areas of communication and engagement based on our analysis.
As a team we noted the mention of the school's strong academic performance on the majority of surveys. Parents especially noted how pleased they were with the school. Also, many survey participants noted that they have recommended Leigh Community Schools to others.
