Welcome to 7th grade! My name is Ms. Hughes and I am so excited to be your teacher this year! This will be my 4th year sharing my love for living things and helping young scholars become budding scientists. I graduated from Lee County High School and went on to study biology at Kennesaw State University. I was able to study abroad in Belize studying marine ecology and coral reef systems. I also volunteered at an animal rehabilitation center in Atlanta where I was able to educate the public on the many different native wildlife species found in Georgia and how to protect them. I then decided to pursue my Master's in Teaching at Columbus State University. I am certified to teach Biological sciences 6-12 grade and middle grades social sciences.

In 7th grade social studies, we will learn about Africa, southwest Asia (Middle East), and southern and eastern Asia. Students will be able to learn in a variety of different ways as well as create and present information geared towards their preferences and learning styles.
