Welcome to 6th grade Math! My name is Lisa Collins, and I am so excited for this school year! I graduated from Georgia Southwestern State University with a B.S. in Middle Grades Education. This will be my 20th year teaching, and I'm honored to have to be a part of the 6th grade STEM team at Lee County Middle SchoolEast. The 6th grade math curriculum is aligned with the Georgia Standards of Excellence and will include the following topics: fractions, decimals, rate, expressions, equations, volume and statistics. The curriculum creates a more student-centered classroom and improves thinking and reasoning skills. Students will also participate in project-based learning experiences related to these key concepts to solidify understandings.
