"Of particular interest would be a [...] a common taxonomy to describe offerings. There is so much need and so many school leaders who need support. [...] I still believe that replication and scale should trump turf-wars." - TLA capacity-builder focus group participant
This is a cross-cutting question; the challenge of rearchitecting our public education systems is immense, requiring collective action and generative thinking. Given this map does not yet have relational analysis, it's more difficult to draw generalized conclusions about how entities might be working together, or what their stance is on how to do so.
One observation we'd make is that partnerships and networks play a key role across many entities and segments, from teacher redesign networks, to homeschooling collectives, to coalitions exploring group learning and coordination. Investment in structures that foster this collaboration-- such as maps like these as well as intermediaries, shared frameworks, and collective action networks-- could help to accelerate progress.
Entities are exploring different ways to build collective pathways, from setting the conditions for new innovations to emerge, to regional and place-based initiatives, to cross-sector alliances. We've highlighted several entities that illustrate these approaches.
(Note: these examples are illustrative and intended to reflect a diverse array of theories, approaches, and stakeholders, including less well-known or emerging initiatives. We also attempted to avoid duplication across categories.)
