Do
Take initiative to help students who are not working or needing help.
Remind students of strategies they should be doing on their work.
Become familiar with reading/ math strategies that students are taught.
Jump in when you see a need.
Be a champion for all students (even if they are not on your caseload (SPED IA’s).
Don't
Give students the answers to their work but do lead them in finding the correct answers.
Carry on side conversations with other adults in the room
Question teachers about assignments or practices in front of students.
Sit in the back or side of the classroom and not engage with students and play on your cell phone instead.
Have cell phone out texting during class instruction or on the playground
