Professional Dress Guidelines for Staff
Research supports that a professional appearance by both students and staff positively impacts student achievement. As such, all faculty and staff are expected to dress professionally each day to model appropriate attire for our students.
General Expectations:
Daily attire should reflect a polished and professional image.
Traditional jeans and t-shirts are not permitted, except on designated casual days. (Note: "Business denim" refers to dark, structured denim without holes or excessive fading and is distinct from casual jeans.)
Wind suits and athletic wear are not acceptable for regular school days but may be worn on designated activity days such as Field Day.
Shorts, when permitted (e.g., Field Day, field trips, or workdays), must be modest in length and professional in appearance. Cut-off shorts and athletic shorts are not acceptable.
Tank tops are not allowed.
Leggings may only be worn underneath a dress or skirt—not as standalone pants.
Professional footwear is expected at all times.
Casual Days:
Fridays and designated workdays are considered casual. On these days, staff may wear neat jeans, joggers, or other tasteful casual pants paired with a professional top, polo, or school-branded t-shirt.
Additional Appearance Guidelines:
Clothing displaying political or controversial messages, visuals, or symbols should not be worn in the workplace.
Staff are expected to maintain a professional appearance that avoids distractions.
Our goal is to maintain a school environment that promotes learning, professionalism, and respect. Thank you for helping set that tone through your appearance.
