Am I considered to be "faculty" or "staff"?

Generally, faculty is comprised of teachers and also includes guidance, administration, therapists, instructional coaches, etc. in an elementary school.

The responsibility to "get the job done" extends past set work hours for faculty.

Here are a few examples...

• Supervision. Supervising students before or after work hours (late bus students, students who miss the bus, etc.)

• Parental Involvement Activities. Thes are often scheduled outside of traditional work hours. Participation is typically required of all Faculty. Each school in LCS is expected to have a number of events per semester. At Sheffield, faculty should expect and plan for one or more required evening per quarter.

• Planning. Grading. Reports. While there is some time allotted during the work week to make headway with these necessary tasks, there may consistently be more time required to complete each responsibility of your position as a faculty member.

• Training. There may be additional training required, faculty meetings, etc.
