How to Apply

The Magnet Application window is tentatively scheduled for October 1 - November 15, 2019. In order to attend any LAUSD Magnet, parents must apply through the Unified Enrollment Application. Students may also complete a Late Application beginning on _____________________.

NOTE: You MUST live within the Los Angeles Unified School District in order to apply.

Acceptance Criteria

Students are accepted based on a Magnet Priority Points System. You are assigned points based on matriculation from a magnet middle school, siblings attending the Zoo Magnet, wait lists from previous years, if your home school is designated as PHBAO, and overcrowding at your home school. Magnet Acceptances are sent out mid-March

  1. If you are offered a position, you can accept online at LAUSD's Unified Enrollment website or by calling the Zoo Magnet Office at (323) 660-0165. After you accept, you will be sent the paperwork required to enroll.
  2. Schedule an appointment to bring in your completed packet by calling Ms. Vega at the Zoo Magnet Office at (323) 660-0165.
