Adam

Pronouns: he/himMy name is Adam. I’m an energetic, talkative person who is interested in animals, science, fantasy, movies and sports (primarily football and basketball). I won’t shy away from having conversations outside of my comfort zone, and I enjoy learning very much. Something that has always fascinated me is the different mindsets of freshman entering the Zoo Magnet. Nevertheless, I will support you throughout your early years of high school.

Adamaris

Pronouns: she/herHi, my name is Adamaris but everyone calls me Ada. I can be a little shy and awkward at first but after a bit I begin to open up. I am a really loving, caring, and happy person and I love making the people around me smile. I’m on the dance & colorguard team here at North Hollywood and I play soccer outside of school. Some of my favorite things are sunflowers, coffee, sunsets and hanging out with my friends. I am a really open minded person so feel free to talk to me about anything, I’ll be happy to help.

Alejhandra

Pronouns: she/herHi! My name is Alejhandra. My pets include 3 cats (one of which I favor because she is my baby for life), and 2 dogs (my dogs are kind of clumsy, especially the German shepherd. Just ask for photos, I will gladly ramble about my pets to you) I am an artistic gal, who loves painting and drawing. I am a student volunteer at the LA Zoo, and I have a weird obsession with skincare and makeup, even though I barely wear makeup. I love Shawn Mendes (laugh all you want, he’s perfect), and personally I love piano music or white noise playlists.

America

Pronouns: she/herHey my name is America! At first I come out super shy. It takes me awhile for me to get out of my comfort zone and to be out and about. However, I'm a kind, generous, loving person and who cares about everyone. Over time I start to show my inner self as an outgoing, exciting person. I start to show my fun side as well as my weird side. On my free time I tend to be curious. I’m a child by heart and want to be your best friend till the end.

Bryan

Pronouns: he/himHey! I’m Bryan. I’m pretty social so don’t be shy when we first meet. I’m into music, mostly K-pop, but I do listen to other genres. I’m very easy to talk to and I’m a good listener. Some of my favorite things to do are listen to music, eat, sleep, learn other languages, and to hang out with friends. I’m a very energetic person so much that I’m practically bouncing off the walls, but I can also be extremely chill. I love the Zoo Magnet because it’s one big family, now you can be a part of it too.

Carolina

Pronouns: she/herHello, my name is Carolina. I am a very outgoing person. One of the things I like to do on my free time is play softball. I have been playing softball since I was 6 years old. I am on the team here at NH, and I play all positions but my main position is pitcher. I am planning on going to college after high school. I want to study to become a NICU surgeon. I am very excited to meet you all!!!

Catherine

Pronouns: she/herHi! My name is Catherine. I am a complete book nerd and will usually finish a book a day if I have the free time. I love going to the beach and I am trying to learn how to surf. I love Disneyland and all things Disney. I know tons of random Disney facts so if you ever want to know one just ask me. I want to major in Marine Biology and my favorite sea creatures are sea turtles and octopodes. I am excited to welcome you all to the Zoo Magnet and hope you love it as much as I do!

Chase

Pronouns: he/himI am Chase. I have a variety of interests. First of all, I spend a large amount of my time drawing in my sketchbook, every day. I mostly draw characters from my favorite videogames, television shows, and sometimes, I just do simple black and white sketches. Other times, I spend days, usually a little more than a week, working on a full colored art pieces. I am quite proud of these pieces. I post these art pieces anonymously online, on the social media platform reddit. I want to eventually start my own art blog, perhaps on tumblr. I also enjoy playing D&D (Dungeons and Dragons). I play this game with friends from school every week, and sometimes my siblings and I play D&D together. I also play videogames, often with my little brother. My favorite games are Hollow Knight, Enter the Gungeon and Minecraft. I spend much time playing with my little brother, and sometimes with Presley as well. I try to do well in school, and so far have all A’s in my high school classes.

Cinelli

Pronouns: she/herHi guys :) My name is Cinelli & I am a mentor for the class of 2023. I have been at the zoo magnet since my freshman year. I have many hobbies and activities I love to do such as playing tennis, listening to music, eating and hanging out with friends. I am captain of the girls tennis team, so I have some strong leadership skills and am super friendly, so if you ever need to talk to me feel free to.

Ellie

Pronouns: she/herHeyo, I’m Ellie! I, like a majority of the students at the Zoo Magnet, love and appreciate animals immensely. I have 2 dogs, a turtle, and 2 birds. I am very proud of being a Zoo Magnet student and I am certain I’ll be a reliable mentor for this year’s incoming freshmen, so if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask me! Besides being a proud student of an amazing school, I also enjoy talking with my peers. I love classic and indie rock as well as a large variety of music genres, but to be honest, my all time favorite band is Queen. If I have any free time you might catch me playing on a Nintendo Switch or 3DS around campus. I’ll see you soon! : )

Elliot

Pronouns: he/himMy name is Elliot. I am a zoo magnet student with a large creativity, imagination and love for this magnet. I love playing video games and watching anime. I am German and therefore bilingual in both German and English. I can be very talkative and I'm open to any conversation one might have. I might not be too athletic or have stamina but I always give 110% into everything I do.

Grace

Pronouns: she/herHi I’m Grace! I try to have a good time no matter where I am and I’m a very open minded person. I really enjoy listening to all types of music and being in band. I have 3 dogs and I’m obsessed with them. I love animals and hope to have a career in the future where I get to work with them. I am in the Zoo Student Volunteer Program and Girl Scouts. I like watching scary movies, going to the beach, and hanging out with friends. I hope I can make your time here at the Zoo Magnet as fun and memorable as possible!

Hayley

Pronouns: she/herMy name is Hayley. I’m a proud member of the Zoo Magnet and the NHHS Royal Regiment dance team/colorguard. Colorguard and dance are two of my passions along with horseback riding. I used to be a part of a competitive cheer team for 7 years and I still love hearing or watching the sport. I’m a very sarcastic person but always in a kind way and if you ever need someone to talk to I’m always here to listen. I’m very excited to be a part of the mentor program for the incoming class of 2023.

Irina

Pronouns: she/herHi guys, my name is Irina & I am a mentor for the class of 2023. I have many hobbies that include reading, working, singing, & my favorites, listening to music & hanging out with my friends. I like being involved with my school & enjoy doing extracurriculars such as sports, internships & leadership which I have done for many years so I see myself as a student leader hoping to take on bigger things in the future. I was born in Armenia but I was raised right here in North Hollywood & I joined the Zoo Magnet as a sophomore. People say I’m passionate, social & easy to talk to so whether it’s over the phone or in person, you can come to me for anything! (:

Isa

Pronouns: he/himHey, I’m Isa! I can be shy at first but once I get to know you, I can be pretty fun and laid back. I enjoy playing the piano, drawing, listening to music (mainly K-pop), and playing Mario Kart. Being in the Zoo Magnet has allowed me to meet so many people with the same interests and create a lot of fun memories and I hope the same happens for you! I am a very open-minded and easy to talk to kind of guy so feel free to come to me for any questions or advice you need :)

Pronouns: she/herHello! My name is Katie. I am constantly busy with school and extracurriculars but when I have time to myself, I love reading and hanging out with my friends. I have a dog named Pepper, who has more energy than I can handle. I have two sisters and two brothers who are all either in college or about to be in college. And the most important thing to know about me is my passion for civic engagement and local and nation wide politics. Can't wait to meet my mentees!

Pronouns: she/herHi, my name is Kieran! I am very friendly and empathetic. I am always willing to listen to any problems people may have, and enjoy helping people overcome them. I am the president of the Zoo Magnet Astronomy Club, and I am highly interested in the fields of astronomy and zoology. My interests include drawing, writing, reading, painting, mythology, cartoons, musicals, electronic music, video games, and watching Stranger Things. I am ready to help you with anything you may need, and I can’t wait to work together!

Lizbette

Pronouns: she/herHey I'm Lizbette! I am a pretty easy person to get along with and I'm really friendly! I'm a new mentor and I'm really excited to meet everyone! I enjoy reading and playing a majority of sports like soccer, volleyball, and basketball though I'm not necessarily the best at them. I also love playing with my dog and listening to music. I'm open minded and a good listener so don't be afraid to tell me what's on your mind. If you ever need to talk or just want to laugh I'll be there! :)

Patience

Pronouns: she/herHi, I'm Patience, and yes I am patient (most of the time). I’m in marching band, I play mallet percussion in the front ensemble. I am a student volunteer at the zoo as well. I like movies and musical theater, and of course, animals! I’m really friendly, but you just have to give me a minute to get used to you. I’ll be there for you whenever you need me, and I can’t wait to meet you all in the fall!

Presley

Pronouns: she/herHello! I am Presley. I like reading, laughing at memes, and playing video games. I am currently playing Hollow Knight and Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp. I am eagerly awaiting the release of Hiveswap: Act Two and Deltarune. I am in Students Run LA and NHHS’s Vocal Ensemble. In addition, I am the Vice President of the Zoo Magnet Astronomy Club. Every other Sunday I work as a Student Volunteer at the Los Angeles Zoo. The final thing I want you to know about me is that I cannot wait to meet you!

Rashad

Pronouns: he/himHi my name is Rashad but sometimes I like to go by Shad. My favorite things to do are play basketball ,watch tv or YouTube and play video games. I’m super open minded and I try to be as postive as possible.i love playing basketball it’s my passion,everything about the sport amazes me. I’m called a giant because I’m really tall, but I don’t feel that tall.I am a really creative person,I like to try and find the positive in every situation. I’m always talking about basketball so if you ever wanna ask me questions or anything I’m here to talk! Zoo Is a welcoming and open environment!!

Samantha

Pronouns: she/herHi! My name is Samantha. A little bit about myself is that I come from a pretty big family. I live with my parents, two siblings, and my two exchange students. I am a huge animal lover and have six pets of my own, two dogs and four cats. Because of my love for animals I volunteer at a couple pet rescues, Pet Orphans and The Cat’s Meow. Lastly, I have also been in the Royal Regiment Band and Dance team playing the saxophone for almost two years now and I have loved every minute of it.

Sarah

Pronouns: she/herHey mentees I’m Sarah. At times I can be super energetic and at other times I can be more calm than I usually would be. I can also be very social, and very easy to talk to. I play volleyball for the school, and hope to continue throughout college. I enjoy working with animals, and hope to pursue my dream of being a veterinarian and making my own business with my friend America. Some of my hobbies include: reading and writing on my free time, playing/training with my dogs, watching Youtube or Netflix, and sometimes photography.

Zooey

Pronouns: he/himMy name is Zooey, like the zoo. I am a cat person; I have 2 at home. I value friendship over almost everything and my friends are very important to me. I love comics and their characters. I love both Marvel and DC comics but if I had to choose one, I’d have to choose DC as my favorite. I watch a lot of movies. My favorite subjects are math and chemistry.
