We are delighted to share that M@W has been invited to participate in a large-scale art installation at the world-famous Painted Hall in Greenwich, renowned for its historic baroque decorations by Sir James Thornhill. We will be taking part in the Peace Doves project by renowned sculptor Peter Walker. A member of the installation team made a visit to M@W to share the idea with our students and invite them to take part in creating the part piece, each of our students and staff had the oppertunity to create there very own dove that will be hung as part of the installation. The finished were taken away to be woven into the grand installation at the Painted Hall. On Thursday, 3rd December, the entire M@W community will travel to Greenwich on a group trip to view the finished artwork. The organisers have kindly arranged free admission for our group, which usually costs £10 per ticket, as well as vehicle parking.
This is a fantastic opportunity for our students to see their artwork displayed in such a prestigious venue and to be part of something much bigger than themselves. We will have a space for lunch and an opportunity to have a walk around the historic sights of Greenwich before returning to school.
