Lifeskills: Basic first aid
Our students have been hard at work mastering life-saving skills as part of their ASDAN Lifeskills Challenge in Basic First Aid. This week, the focus was all about staying calm and taking action during a medical crisis.
Students learned the vital DR ABC procedure and practiced exactly what to say when dialing 999 in an emergency.
To put their knowledge into practice, pupils took part in hands-on role-play activities:
Assessing the Scene: Checking for potential dangers and checking for a response.
Airway & Breathing: Learning how to safely open airways and check for breathing.
Hands-on Practice: Putting our classroom skeleton into the recovery position to master correct positioning.
Every single pupil did an incredible job, showing fantastic focus and making sure they delivered each step accurately. We are so impressed with their confidence and dedication to learning these essential skills!

Exciting News from Our Business Enterprise!
Our pupils have officially launched their latest enterprise project: crafting custom keyrings and handmade jewellery. As part of our ASDAN Employability coursework, the team spent time conducting market research, exploring key workplace roles, and learning how to meet high work-standard criteria.
Yesterday, production officially got underway! After reviewing health and safety protocols and learning how to safely use specialised craft tools, pupils created their very first designs. Every single pupil did a brilliant job, displaying fantastic teamwork, attention to detail, and enthusiasm.
We are incredibly proud of the initial results and cannot wait to share the finished products with you soon. Stay tuned for future updates and product showcases!

Welcome back to another exciting school year in Canterbury class! It has been a wonderful start to the module, and we are delighted to see how quickly all our pupils have settled into their daily routines. A special mention goes to our new students, who have transitioned exceptionally well into our school community.
Our students have already hit the ground running by beginning work on their ASDAN employability coursework. Through this program, they are developing key workplace skills, preparing to participate in business enterprise projects, and learning how to maintain high professional standards.
This term, pupils also selected their weekly option subjects, tailoring their learning to their personal interests and future goals. Options being explored this term include: cosmetology, graphic design, preloved reloved, construction, art and sport.
We are extremely proud of the hard work, enthusiasm, and positive attitudes shown by all our pupils so far, and we look forward to a successful and productive term ahead!
