How we express ourselves - Module 1 and 2

Week 1:
We had a wonderful first week back in Zeus class. It was full of routine learning and developing our understanding of our class mates. We went to the library, explored the books we have on offer and listened to lots of stories. Whilst learning about how we express our thoughts, feelings and ideas, we read the story The Colour Monster and attached different colours to different emotions. In PE, we did a multi-station exploration with lots of opportunities for social play. We had a wonderful sensory story around the science subject on 'Light'; we explored how light casts shadows when blocked and what happens when we use colour. Overall, it was a fantastic week and we are looking forward to many more!
The Colour Monster
Whilst learning about 'The Colour Monster' in our daily reading, we have been learning about different emotions and have been attributing colours to the emotions. Students have been creating their own colour monsters and showing using expressions how they feel.
Communicating our wants
Whilst learning about communicating our wants, Zeus class created their own smoothies using a communication sheet and a button to activate the blender. The students made it from a range of fruits and chose either milk, water or yogurt.
ILP Work
We work on our individual learning plans. This includes a range of reading, writing, speaking and listening and PSPD tasks. We have been working on part part whole in maths and independent reading.
Horticulture
This week in horticulture, we learnt about germinating plants. We created our own planters using tissue, seed and water.
