Turing 2026/27

In our maths lessons, group 1 has been focusing on using manipulatives to represent different numbers. They have then been using their knowledge of place value to identify the amount of 10s and 100s in a given number.

In our maths lessons, group 2 has been focusing on using their place value knowledge to find 1, 10, 100, 1,000 and 10,000 more and less than a given number.

In our maths lessons, group 3 has been focusing on reading and writing numbers to 10,000,000. 

In PSPD this week, we created a road map with signs telling us to stop and think when we see an image or video online that could be AI. We wrote questions that we could ask ourselves to help us to determine if something online is real or fake.

In English, we have been working on using conjunctions to expand our writing. We practiced using conjunctions by writing sentences about the story 'The Day You Begin'. 

In our inquiry lesson, we explored the process of the Gurdwara in Gravesend being built. We learnt about why the Sikh community needed a new Gurdwara. We created a timeline to represent the process.

In our art lessons, we have been learning about a Sikh artist known as 'Inkquisitive' who uses his skills to create pieces of art linked to his Sikh culture. This links to our inquiry learning about the Sikh community.

In our inquiry lesson this week, we explored the key events surrounding the first Sikh Settlers arriving in Gravesend. We created a news article 

In one of our provocation lessons, we identified the key words in one of our lines of inquiry. We then explored different objects and discussed how they link to celebrations, beliefs and traditions.

In our first English lesson of this module, we discussed how we can use inference in order to predict what might happen in a book. 

In our provocation lesson, we discussed what happens inside of a local religious building and why this building is important to people within a community.
