Welcome to Phase 3
Phase 3 at Leigh Academy Milestone supports students from Years 7 to 11 across 11 classes—eight on our main site and three at our satellite, Milestone @ Sir Geoffrey Leigh Academy. Rooted in the school-wide ethos that all our young people are safe, supportive, curious communicators, our curriculum is designed to meet the holistic needs of every student.
Learning Pathways:
Classes access four tailored learning pathways: Brook, Stream, River, and Waterfall. All four pathways operate on a three-year rolling program structured around Transdisciplinary Themes, Central Ideas, and Lines of Inquiry. You can find out more about the whole-school curriculum here.

Collaborative Inquiry: Lines of Inquiry are created in partnership between staff and students, providing engaging, relevant vehicles for learning.
Personalised Goals: Learning aligns directly with academic progress and individual Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets, which are co-designed with families.
Inclusion & Independence: Adaptations across all four pathways ensure accessible learning, cross-Phase collaboration, and clear pathways toward independence and future educational transitions.
