"Determined, Persistent Achievers - learning to change the world"
19th December 2025
Dear Parents and Carers,
What a term of joy it has been! The children have excelled in the creative arts as they’ve prepared for the performances. Their singing has filled the building with happiness and it has been so special to see them being risk takers as they performed to you. Year 6 took action by creating and selling their Christmas decorations in aid of Barnados. We couldn’t be prouder of the ownership they have taken of this and their determination to ‘Change the World’.
As we head into 2026, we sadly say goodbye to Mrs Humphreys who has worked at Leigh Academy Dartford for many years. Mrs Humphreys has been instrumental in implementing the phenomenal curriculum we have in place and supporting the entire team in understanding how children progress from Nursery, into Reception and on to Year 1. We hope that she enjoys the time with her family and look forward to keeping in touch at drop offs and pick ups. At the same time, we welcome Miss Long (who has been with us since the 1st December). As a highly-experienced year one specialist, she will be taking over the role of Butterflies class teacher. I am sure you will join me in making her feel very welcome.
As we head through this season of celebration and into 2026, I hope you find a moment to reflect on all you have achieved this year and celebrate your successes. Thank you for your continued support of the academy.
We look forward to seeing you and your children in 2026 as they continue to thrive as Determined, Persistent Achievers Learning to Change the World.
Take care,
Mrs Haywood
