Yet another jam packed term for our budding linguists at DPA! Our French club members have shown tenacity and skills as they competed in our La Bonne Paye and Language Angels games. We have also had fun with our Christmas activities and have learned about how Christmas is celebrated in France.
Year 3 have learned and practised numbers to 10, colours as well as the name of animals. They have been introduced to the gender of French words, masculine and feminine, a grammatical key knowledge they will build on in further years.
Year 4 have concluded their learning on the vocabulary related to ice creams and have performed role plays at the ice cream parlour. They have learned and practised numbers and how to ask how much ice creams cost in Euros.
Year 5 have learned to talk about their pets, including naming their pets. Grammatically, year 5s have learned to extend their sentences, using more complex phrases and have learned to turn a positive sentence into a negative.
Finally, year 6 have concluded their topic of clothing. This was a very extensive and grammatically complex unit, which included adjectival agreement, word order, masculine, feminine and plural as well as possessive pronouns. They learned to describe their uniform and designed the ideal uniform they would want to wear at DPA for Miss Robert’s consideration!
Bon Noël et bonne année!
Miss Cowdry
