Reception completed their learning on different types of houses with their Bake Sale to raise money for the homeless. We were so proud of the outpour of help offered by our parents to make it such a huge success. Crisis were so grateful for the donation from the money raised.
After the half term break we moved on to looking at our new inquiry. We have started by looking into different types of habitat around the world. The children discovered the wonders of the jungle, arctic/antarctic and the ocean. The children imagined what they would see and how it would feel in each environment. They even got to take a trip to the arctic where it was really cold and there was even an igloo!
Later this term we explored minibeasts. The children had fun searching for minibeasts in the garden and observing them closely in our Entomologist lab. This led us excitedly on to our visit from the company Exotic Explorers. The children had the opportunity to meet five different animals; spanning a range of the habitats that we have been learning about such as a snake from the jungle, chinchilla from a cold environment and a giant millipede which allowed them to meet an exotic minibeast.
Thank you for a fantastic term!
