We hope this newsletter finds you well as we continue our journey towards fostering a positive and resilient school community.
This term we celebrated Children's Mental Health Week, an important time to highlight the significance of mental health in young minds. Our school is committed to creating a supportive environment where every child feels valued, heard, and understood. This week, we encouraged conversations around mental health, promoted self-care practices, and emphasised the importance of seeking help when needed.
We understand that everyone faces moments of low mood from time to time. To support our students during these times, we're introducing strategies for coping with low moods. Year 6 welcomed a representative from Kooth who discussed this with them. They have also been introduced to their website, something they can utilise throughout the school life.
As well as the 5 ways to wellbeing, breathing techniques continue to be one of the bedrocks to our wellbeing policy. They are simple yet powerful tools for managing stress and anxiety. We continue to encourage students to practise deep breathing exercises whenever they feel overwhelmed or stressed. These techniques can be done anywhere, anytime, and can help bring a sense of calm and focus during challenging moments.
Please look at our website page for more information to help you or your child. Together, let's continue to prioritise mental health and create a culture of care and support within our school community.
If you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. Your feedback is always appreciated.
Wishing you all a week filled with kindness, understanding, and positive mental health.
Regards
Mr Foulds and the Wellbeing team.
