TRANSCRIPTS

CREATING A PARCHMENT ACCOUNT

If you have not signed up for a Parchment account, then use the Parchment video or Parchment guide to get started.  Your information MUST match your high school records (Christopher not Chris).  If you have two last names, put them both in the last name box.  Please make sure your information is accurate.  You should also sign up with a PERSONAL E-MAIL account.  You will not be able to access your school e-mail after you graduate.  Your college start date should be your graduation year.  Your beginning year is the fall of your freshman year of high school.

Electronic transcripts are free via Parchment until you graduate.  The counseling office is happy to assist you if you have questions or need help; however, we cannot access your Parchment account e-mail or password.  You can click the support link or you can call the help line at 1(888) 662-0874 if you need assistance.  Please use this link to request your transcript.

APPLYING TO COLLEGE

Each time you apply to a college, you need to send your transcript using the blue Parchment link (labeled as LaRue County Schools) located at the right of this page.  Remember, you will not see your current transcript until AFTER you request it. At the end of the school year, seniors will need to send FINAL transcripts to the college they will be attending.  As soon as seniors know which college they are attending, they can send transcripts "hold for grades or hold for degree."  It will not be processed until June.

ATHLETIC ELIGIBILITY

If you are going to play a sport, then you will also need to send it to the NAIA or NCAA Eligibility Center.  You can search for the NCAA and NAIA just like you do for any college.  If you request it before the end of school, then you must select "hold for grades."  Parchment is free to all current students, but there is a small fee for former students.  The rollover happens on July 1 of each year.  So, in order to avoid the fee, you need to request your transcript before July 1 of your graduation year.

SCHOLARSHIPS/OTHER RECIPIENTS

If you have the e-mail address of the recipient, then you can send your transcript from Parchment to an individual.  Many students use this feature to send transcripts to college coaches or recruiters and to apply for scholarships or jobs.  You may also need to send it to your insurance agent in order to receive a discount.  Murray State University Racer Academy students (mostly dual credit ag students) need to send their transcripts to msu.raceracademy@murraystate.edu.

For many local scholarships, current students must fill out a request form located outside the counseling office.  We will give you an official hard copy of your transcript.  Please come to the counseling office in two business days to pick up your transcript.  Official transcripts must have an original signature and the school seal.  Do not make copies or try to print your own.

AFTER GRADUATION

Colleges and employers need your FINAL transcript.  All of your grades, your class rank, and your graduation date are posted on your final transcript.  You may not begin fall classes until a college has your final transcript.  If you request your transcript BEFORE the end of school, then you must select "hold for grades or hold for degree." Your transcript will be processed in June.  If you request your transcript AFTER graduation, then you must select "send now".  Parchment is free to all current students, but there is a small fee for former students.  The rollover happens on July 1 of each year.  So, in order to avoid the fee, you need to request your transcript before July 1 of your graduation year.  Send your FINAL transcript to any college you may attend in the future.

You will also receive a large envelope at graduation practice.  It contains several important documents including a few hard copies of your transcript.  Save these copies for future job applications.

DUAL CREDIT STUDENTS (AFTER GRADUATION)

In addition to your high school transcript, you will also need to send your college transcripts to the college you will be attending.  The high school cannot award you college credit.  Only an accredited college is able to do that.  Please use the links to the right to send your transcripts.  There is usually a small fee.  Remember, you do not want to send your college transcripts until your grades have been reported, so please check with your instructor and/or the college's academic calendar.

OTHER DOCUMENTS

Other documents can also be sent through Parchment.  If you made benchmark via KYOTE instead of ACT, the college will need a copy of those scores.  Mr. Sandidge is in charge of KYOTE testing.  You should request a copy of your KYOTE scores from Mr. Sandidge before you graduate.  You can also request your unofficial test scores on Parchment.  Request them BEFORE school is out when you request your transcript.  Unofficial ACT scores are listed on your transcript via Parchment.  Again, these are unofficial (they are unofficial because they are not sent directly from ACT) and will not count for undergraduate admission at most colleges.

To request official ACT scores, you must sign in to your ACT account and pay to send your score report.  Keep in mind, you can send scores to four colleges for free each time you take the ACT test.

ATHLETES

Student-athletes must submit an official transcript for each high school or academic program they attended. Grades from one high school or program transcribed on another high school’s transcript will not be accepted. A student-athlete who has attended multiple schools in a district with a common transcript does not need to submit multiple transcripts.  Refer to the NAIA Guide or the NCAA Guide for additional questions about student-athletes.

Students should send their transcripts using the Parchment link.  When sending transcripts through this service, select academic destinations and either the NAIA Eligibility Center or the NCAA Eligibility Center.  Students need to wait to send transcripts until the transcript includes all completed coursework through graduation (unless you qualify for an early decision).

Once you are eligible to communicate with college coaches, you may e-mail individual coaches your transcript through Parchment.  This will help them in the recruiting process.  Once you sign, all final official transcripts must be sent to your chosen school and eligibility center via Parchment.

OFFICIAL TEST SCORES

Student-athletes should send their ACT or SAT score reports through their ACT or College Board account.  If the student-athlete sent a score report to the eligibility center when he/she signed up for the test, then the student-athlete does not have to send an additional report.  Athletes need to send their scores to the NAIA (code 9876) or NCAA (code 9999) as well as the college or university.
