Year 4

Across Year 4 the children's inquiry centered around the theme of 'Inventions and their influence on homan progress". The pupils embarked on a journey of discovery and exploration, learning about some of the most influential inventions in human history and how they have shaped the world we live in today. The children examined the impact of innovations relevant to them, such as music, gaming and the computer. Following this, they discussed the ways in which these invention have changed the course of human progress.

Throughout the journey, pupils were encouraged to think critically about the positive and negative consequences of tese inventions and to consider how future innovations may impact the world in similar ways. In their writing, the children expressed themselves through letters to inventors and poetry. They were also given opportunities to engage in hands-on learning activities, such as creating their own prototypes for potential new inventions, and presenting their ideas to the class.

The inquiry learning journey was a rich and engaing experience for the pupils as they developed a deeper understanding of the role of inventions in shaping human progress. Through this journey, they gained valuable knowledge and skills that will serve them well in their future academic and personal pursuits.
