Assessment

Assessment

Assessment at Landmark is integrated within the learning process, in order to be an authentic measure of understanding. In assessing our students, we gain a clearer picture of the development of their knowledge, skills and conceptual understandings. Assessment is conducted of the learning process, for the learning process and as learning itself.

Throughout the school, students’ progress is continuously monitored so teachers can best support the individual to achieve their potential. Students are regularly involved in the process to ensure they are co-constructors in their learning journey. Feedback is given both orally and in writing in order to support future learning and goal setting. Teachers use a range of strategies in order to construct a comprehensive picture of an individual's understanding.

Peer and self-assessment is a valued skill and tool for involving the student in the process of reflection and evaluation, of giving and receiving meaningful feedback, and of setting and reviewing individual targets.
