English as an Additional Language Provision

Where students join the school and require support in developing their English skills in order to fully access the curriculum, 1:1 tuition is available. 

We teach at three different levels:

• EAL Beginners : For children who arrive at LIS and speak no English or very little English.

• EAL Advanced : For children who have studied English for at least one year and are more fluent.

• EAL Support : For children who are fluent in English and who may need support in subject-specific vocabulary taught within the curriculum, (e.g. Maths, Science, Geography, History)
