What is a Pre-Service Preparation Program
Candidates earning their Preliminary Teaching Credential through an Internship Program at TCSJ must first complete a pre-service preparation program (minimum of 120 clock hours). Pre-Service includes (but is not limited to) foundational preparation in classroom management and planning, reading/language arts, human development, and specific content regarding teaching English learners.
Eligibility Requirements
Hold a bachelor's degree or higher
Meet the Basic Skills Requirement (See options)
Complete the US Constitution requirement
Obtain a Certificate of Clearance

Technology to Support Teaching and Learning - 1 unit
Setting the Stage for Learning - 2 units
Equitable Access for English Learners - 2 units
Planning Instruction - 2 units
Preparing to Teach Reading - 1 unit
Preparing to Teach and Assess - 1 unit
