Corona virus disease detected in 2019 in Wuhan, the largest metropolitan area in China's Hubei province, was first reported to the WHO Country Office in China, on December 31, 2019. However, they were unable to identify the causative agent; therefore, these initial cases were classified as "Pneumonia of unknown etiology." Later, COVID-19 outbreak was declared pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO) on 11th March, 2020. This, on one hand induced fears and anxiety among the people around the world due to a concrete fear of death, and on the other hand turned chaos and confusion on how to deal with sudden global pandemic, as there was no curative medicine for COVID-19. Further, to find a cure one needed a considerably lengthy time which meant a huge toll of human life to be paid till the cure is discovered. Nevertheless, hopes of light in the darkness were conveyed by the articles published after the SARS-CoV-1 (2002) epidemic. These articles suggested that use of herbal drug integrative medical approach at least could have lower the fatality rate and controlled its rapid spread.

KRIC’s Approach
KRIC’s Integrative Treatment Approach Model, is the pedestal on which KRIC’s Integrative Treatment Plan has been formulated. It addresses five facets of human health simultaneously. First, “Faith & Motivation”, informal counseling relieves the patient’s fear and invokes hope for cure. Second, “Diagnose”, diagnostic protocol is formulated in-line with conventional medical healthcare. Third, “Treat”, furnishes treatment protocol using herbal medicines. Fourth, “Enhance Immunity”, uses appropriate diet management and natural supplements with essential nutrition. Fifth, “Prevention”, educates the patient, attendant and others to take necessary preventive measures for own as well as other’s safety as per guidelines of Center of Disease Control (CDC).
