News from the Scholarship Program

31.07.2018 | ❗WARNING: Plagiarism

There can be many reasons why you may be tempted to plagiarize. You may feel like you’re incredibly behind with no possibility of catching up or you may need this Nanodegree more than anything and do not trust your own abilities. Whatever your reason, we have 3 words for you:

DON’T DO IT

Udacity has a zero tolerance plagiarism policy work and the consequence is expulsion. If you have any questions about whether you could be possibly plagiarizing, please refer to the following article. This scholarship is an amazing opportunity, please don’t risk losing it by claiming someone else’s work as your own.

31.07.2018 | You are from Egypt and having issues with verifying your ID during graduation process?

Don't worry! You are in good hands. We just added to our FAQs an info addressing your issue.

31.07.2018 | ❗UPDATE: Mentor chat being down

We’ve received multiple reports of this same issue. Our engineering team is hard at work to resolve this issue as quickly as possible. The service we use for our in-classroom mentorship chat needs to be updated. As such, please reload your Udacity Classroom. We are optimistic that our in-classroom mentorship will be restored shortly.

In the meantime, you can:

We do sincerely apologize for any inconveniences and thank you very much for your patience and understanding!

30.07.2018 | Happy Monday everyone!

We hope you've enjoyed the project walkthrough webinars we organised together with selected student volunteers who agreed to run them just for you!

We've added all of them in the Tech Talks section of our Google Site. We hope they will help you with the projects. 💪

30.07.2018 | It's almost two weeks left until end of the scholarship! 😎

We would love to hear how this experience has impacted your life. Tell us what you are passionate about and what moved you to apply to the scholarship. What do you want to change in your life or the lives of others and how has this program supported your goals?

How?

                • Share your story on social media with an accompanying photo of what has motivated you on this journey (eg. a person in your life, that goal you want to reach, the career you are aiming for). Just like Roberto did ------------->
                • Use the hashtags: #UdacityImpact #GrowwithGoogle #GoogleUdacityScholar so we can celebrate alongside you!

Why?

                • This could lead to an opportunity for you to be featured by Google and Udacity, just like students Ildiko Fekete, Aaron Oertel or Sarah Blevins were!

❗Please also don't forget about filling out the Job Report, in case you got a job, promotion or an internship thanks to the scholarship!

18.07.2018 | Do you remember the T-shirt competition?

Well, this fantastic story finally got a well deserved recognition! Teespring (the platform on which the shop swag was created) wrote an article about the whole initiative. You can find it HERE.

It's a real pleasure and honour for us to work with such fantastic learning community that makes a REAL impact. You inspire us and make us proud every single day. #GoogleUdacityScholars - YOU ROCK!

13.07.2018 | We've updated our FAQs! 🎉

Since many of you asked what's going to happen after August 15, what if you don't finish the course by then or whether your progress will be saved, we've updated our FAQs!

Here're the example questions we answered:

                • What happens if my last project is submitted, but still not reviewed before the August 15th deadline?
                • Will I be able to continue my ND if I don’t finish the course by August 15?
                • How much will it cost to continue if I don’t finish the course by Aug 15? Is there a discount for continuing the course?
                • I graduated on time (before Aug 15). Will I get a discount for next ND?
                • Will I still be able to submit my resume (or any other career project) for review after Aug 15?

10.07.2018 | Hi ya'll,

The survey results showed that one of the most effective initiatives that help you make progress are the Study Jams 🏀, so from now on until the end of the scholarship we will be running them on WEEKLY BASIS.

Starting THIS Saturday, July 14, we will be doing a Study Jam for 4 hours, between 11:00-15:00 CEST.

These are the project we will be working on:

                • #abnd-p6-news-stage-1
                • #abnd-p7-news-stage-2
                • #and-p6-capstonestage1
                • #fend-p5-feed-reader
                • #fend-p6-restaurant
                • #mwsnd-stage3

Make sure you regularly check our Study Jams page to see what projects we will be conquering in the upcoming study session.

You can also find there all the livestream links to previous SJs, and some stats on the effectiveness of Study Jams as learning sessions!

03.07.2018 | A big day today! 🎉

Here’s a brand new tool that will help you make progress on your projects. Even better – it was FULLY developed by your fellow scholars, by students for students! We introduce you to the…

AwesomeApp!

                • What is it?

Thanks to this app, students who work on the same project can find and contact each other using Slack to solve problems together.

                • How does it work?

Create your account, select the project you are working on, and you will see the Slack name of a student you can connect with. To check who works on a given project first choose your track (AND, ABND, FEND or MWS), then select the project you are working on and then check the list of students. You can change the language to find students who speak the language you prefer.

                • Who built it?

The idea of the app and the development was done by two ABND students: @MalgoskaG, @Bwaim and three FEND students: @elharony, @dimas.x, @klara.borowska.

How to access it?
