How to Use Slack Coaches

Who they are and what they can do for you

WHO ARE SLACK COACHES?

Coaches are Nanodegree graduates of the track they coach. The Android Coaches are also graduates of a previous Google Scholarship. So they have been through the same experience as you!
They help you on Slack with your technical questions, solve blockers, and to help you progress in your projects.
They already work of the field, so they can share their experience about job search and integration into a career as a developer.

HOW TO “USE” SLACK COACHES?

If you need help from a Slack Coach, we recommend you to @tag him/her in your track’s public channel, and they will get back to you as soon as they can.
You can also send them DMs, but you might wait a bit longer for their answer – they are only few, and you are so many!
- By asking questions on public channels you also can get a quicker response from the community if the the Coaches are not available at that time.
- Asking in public channels also allows others to benefit from the answer!
- Also, please always try to post your questions in one message (not each line of text in separate line – it's hard to follow!), and always use threads for replying.
The Coaches are there to help you, but they also have full-time jobs besides your course, so please take into account that they are not available 24/7. They help when they can by dedicating their free time to that. Please respect that.
In case you need immediate response to your problem, it is better to reach out to your classroom mentor and forum mentors.

WHERE TO FIND THEM?

You can find them on #live-help channels specific to your track (e.g. #fend-live-help), project-specific channels (e.g. #mwsnd-stage3), but they also hang out in other channels.
