Android Hackathon 2018

All the details you need for a weekend of coding

This year’s first Android Track Hackathon took place on April 14th-15th! The goal was to give Android students a chance to get live help on their projects and answer any questions or blockers they may have. But also – to have fun together!

BIG THANKS to everyone who participated!

Hackathon in numbers:

3k students in 32 different countries
20 students hacking onsite in Berlin
7 mentors in front of camera for 11 hours

We had a fantastic time with ALL of you – both these of you who joined us online (especially those who shared their desk pics!) and these who came to our office in Berlin.

How Does the Hackathon Work?

Each of our Session Coaches will be working on a project in each designated Slack Channel listed below.
Join the channel of the project that you’d like to work on, and get coding!
You will submit your questions through the Slack channel, and the Session Coaches will answer in the live stream.
They’ll share their screen to show you examples or help you work through problems.
Participants will watch the livestream and simultaneously code, while questions will be asked and answered in Slack.
The livestream will be recorded and shared with everyone after the Hackathon.

Slack Channels

In these slack channels, the Session Coaches are going to post a link of the live stream in the heading of the Slack Channel. You can follow the link to arrive to the live stream. Each Session Coach will answer your questions via Slack and share their screen in the live stream, where they will be going through the project live.
