Union Membership and Representation
KGA has signed a Trade Union Recognition Agreement with all seven of the Education unions
this is a joint statement from NEU, NASUWT, Unison, GMB, Unite, ASCL, NAHT & KGA
We are delighted to share with colleagues that after extensive discussions, King’s Group Academies (KGA) and all seven education unions have formalised an agreement to work in partnership.
The Trade Union Recognition Agreement sets out a framework to support regular constructive dialogue between union representatives and KGA leadership. Locally elected representatives will continue to work with school leadership teams on school matters and offer support to colleagues individually as needed. There will also now be termly meetings between the unions and the KGA executive to discuss matters that impact across the whole Trust.
This is a really positive development which supports academy improvement, ensuring that colleagues have a voice to raise issues that impact on them and contribute to decision making.
Each union will appoint representatives to attend the Trust wide meetings. To be fully successful, we also want to have local union representatives. If you would like to join one of the education unions, please visit MyKGA for more information. If you are interested in becoming a workplace union representative, you can contact your regional union office for more information.
