Today we explored making number bonds to 20. We have looked at how they relate to number bonds to 10. 

For example:

6+4=10    16+4=20

We worked together to make doubles of numbers up to 20 to help us with our addition and subtrcation. 

05.02.24

Today we learnt about finding the difference and what that means in maths. We know it the the difference in numbers between groups. Lining up the amount in each group helps us to see the difference. You can see in the photos the children have made towers and then written the difference as a number. We will relate this to subtraction later. 

06.02.24  Today we found the difference and wrote a calculation to show this. We wrote it as a subtraction. We rolled dice to get two numbers and then found the difference between them.

The difference between 5 and 3 is 2                       5-3=2
