Tones and shades
We looked carefully at pictures of waves, noticing all the different shades and tones of blue. We tried to make different tones of blue for our own pictures.

First we tried to make waves using careful brush lines. The children used paint brushes with the paitns they had already mixed earlier.

We used the technique of printing to print with our fingers to create a wave. The children worked hard and produced pictures with life like texture to them.

For our final piece we would be drawing our own waves. The chidlren practised and then coloured their waves. The creativity of the chidlren is wonderful to see.

After drawing our own waves in our sketch book for practise, we draw our own and painted them. This was to be our final piece where we could choose the technique we preferred, e.g painting, printing etc.
