The tutor is at the heart of a KGV student’s experience. Your tutor will know you well as an individual. They are the first point of contact for you and your parent/guardinan. They are responsible for monitoring you academically, socially and your general wellbeing. They will provide support, encouragement and guidance. They will also be your advocate in school; a person who can speak on your behalf when needed.
Tutor time takes place every day after period two:
On Monday 10:15 - 10:30 and Tuesday - Friday 10.35 - 10.55.
KGV tutor groups are divided into four sections; Year 7, Years 8 & 9, Years 10 & 11, Years 12 & 13
Your Head of Year will support you in responding to day to day issues, with the support of you Senior Head of Year and VP when issues are not resolved or have escalated.
You should know where the Senior School Office is and go there to report an issue if something arises.
Every student belongs to one of the four house at KGV. Tutor groups are based around houses and everyone in your tutor group will be in the same house. You will stay in the same house for the entire time you are at KGV, and this house will be part of your community and identity.
RTI tutors do not have their own tutor group but instead meet with individual students or small groups during tutor time to give individual support. See the presentation for more details.
