MEET SOME OF OUR NEW BRAVE STAFF MEMBERS!
Hi my name is Tara Yancy. I am thrilled to be serving GT students at BCI this year. This year marks my 24th year in education, and my 10th year as a GT Specialist in KISD. I am a proud graduate of Texas A&M. I have three children who all attended Keller schools. I love to "read" audio books, work in my yard, and play games.
My name is Nicole Mettham. I am teaching 6th grade Academic math this year. This is my 24th year in education. I taught 2nd and 3rd grade in GCISD for 12 years. I have been a part of Keller ISD for the last 12 years. In Keller, I taught 5th grade math, 4th grade all subjects and elementary PE. It feels like I have done it all.
My husband and I have 2 boys. Corbin is in 8th grade and Jaxon is in 5th grade. During my spare time, I enjoy watching them play sports, spending time with the family, watching TV, reading and shopping. I am excited to be at BCI!
We have seen an improvement with cars pulling up to our SECOND crosswalk during our morning drop off. This is where we have a staff member stationed for duty. PLEASE DO NOT DROP OFF YOUR STUDENT WHERE WE DO NOT HAVE A STAFF MEMBER PRESENT. When this happens, students are placed in danger. We will move up to the first crosswalk at 7:40 AM. If you haven't viewed the following video, please do so. Thank you!

SCHOOL PICTURE DAY!
Mark it on your calendar! Spiffy up that smile! September 19th will be picture day for our Braves! Our schedule allows our students and staff members to have pictures taken in the morning so that "after recess look" won't be a permanent memory. :)

Please take note of Keller ISD's new policy regarding leaving over the counter medications in the school clinic. Beginning the 2024-25 school year, all medication, including over the counter, will require a completed medication administration form with a parent AND physician's signature in order to be left in the school clinic. All medications must have either a current prescription label or a medication administration form with a physician's signature.
BRAVE NEWS
This section will have different announcements to get to know either expectations and/or for you to learn more about Bear Creek this summer. Hopefully getting information in small chunks will give you and your Brave time to review prior to school starting!

We encourage you to review the map for drop off and pick up expectations. Our focus is for safety for all. The easiest piece of advice is to follow our staff's instructions in our drop off/pick up lanes. If they need you to pull up, please follow this procedure; otherwise, you will be backing up the lanes for drop off which can cause students to be tardy or not being aware of safety concerns as they pertain to our crosswalks. Thank you in advance!
