Welcome to Bear Creek Intermediate!
Mission: Dedicated to developing excellence for all students, teachers and staff to ensure a lifelong love of learning.
Motto: Believing. Caring. Inspiring.
Vision: A community that supports and inspires one another.
What a wonderful start this morning! We thank you all for watching our videos, calling up to school with questions, and following our staff's directions this morning to make drop off safe for our students, staff and families.
As a reminder, our drop off is on the west side of campus. This is where our staff is located to help with crosswalks. Our special education buses, daycare vans, and other van transportation drops off by door one.
Starting tomorrow, students will enter the building on their own, reporting to the assigned hallways where they will sit from 7:15 AM to 7:30 AM. If your child gets to campus after 7:30 AM, he/she may walk to his/her locker to put supplies up. Students are expected to be in the classroom ready to learn by 7:45 AM.
Student dismissal will have a staggered release. Our BUS riders will be leaving their classrooms at 3:10 PM. In years past, over 70% of our students rode a bus for our PM routes, so, as you can imagine, we will have a lot of students leaving at this time.
At 3:13, our WALKERS will be dismissed. There is not a designated area where walkers are picked up. Please communicate with your student where you will be each day so that your walker will know which crosswalk to use. We have crosswalks on the south side of campus that cross Bear Creek Parkway and another that crosses over Phillips Drive on the north side of campus. If you are parking your vehicle in our neighborhoods around us, please be respectful by not blocking driveways, walking on lawns, or speeding. We are surrounded by a sweet community and a beautiful park, so we want to make sure we take care of these areas.
At 3:15, our CAR RIDERS will be dismissed. We do not call out names. Students are instructed to watch as the cars pull up to see where they would need to use the crosswalk, if needed. We will have many adults out to help encourage our students to keep watching for you as you safely drive around the loop. Remember to stay off your cell phone in our loop for safety reasons.

5th grade rotates within teachers that are the same House assignments. We do have a couple of Houses where students will go to a teacher in another House as well.
Homeroom for 5th will be 1st period class.
We are trying something NEW this year with our 6th grade Houses. Our students will now be the House color as their first CORE CONTENT teacher. In years past, it was difficult to build House unity when our students were shuffled. Hopefully this will help our students have a stronger connection to their peers and staff by changing House assignments.
Homeroom for 6th grade will be their 1st period class.
Every year, our new students let us know that watching videos that explain expectations prior to coming to campus truly helps. So, grab some popcorn and cozy on up to the computer screen and enjoy!

BRAVE NEWS
This section will have different announcements to get to know either expectations and/or for you to learn more about Bear Creek this summer. Hopefully getting information in small chunks will give you and your Brave time to review prior to school starting!
All the days have been beautifully identified on this calendar to help with planning. If you would like access to a printable copy, please click on the following link: https://www.kellerisd.net/about-kisd/calendar
We encourage you to review the map for drop off and pick up expectations. Our focus is for safety for all. The easiest piece of advice is to follow our staff's instructions in our drop off/pick up lanes. If they need you to pull up, please follow this procedure; otherwise, you will be backing up the lanes for drop off which can cause students to be tardy or not being aware of safety concerns as they pertain to our crosswalks. Thank you in advance!
